Catch a San Diego Padres Game at Petco Park

Petco Park in downtown San Diego is one of Major League Baseball’s most beautiful and fan-friendly stadiums.

With ample sun and lots of warm weather, it’s no wonder that attending a San Diego Padres game during the baseball season at Petco Park is a must-do. With a beautiful, innovative ballpark and a slew of fresh young talent on the diamond, the Padres are one of the most exciting teams in Major League Baseball.

San Diego is a baseball city. With the Chargers departure to Los Angeles in 2017, the Padres are the only MLB team to not share its market with another franchise in the four major American sports leagues. The stadium is named after the San Diego-based pet supplies retailer Petco. The company owns the naming rights of the stadium until at least 2026.

During the offseason and away games, Petco Park is used as a venue for concerts, soccer, rugby and even golf. [Read more…]

Celebrate America’s Proud Military History Aboard the U.S.S. Midway

The U.S.S. Midway Museum in San Diego gives visitors the chance to step on an authentic aircraft carrier with a rich history in combat. (Photo courtesy midway.org)

San Diego is a city known for its perfect weather, beautiful beaches, warm sunshine and vibrant city life, but it is also a military town at heart. That’s why we are so proud to be permanent home to the iconic U.S.S. Midway, one of the most distinguished aircraft carriers in the history of the United States Navy. Once utilized as one of the longest-serving aircraft carriers in the Navy, the U.S.S. Midway was commissioned in 1945, one week after World War II ended and was decommissioned in 1992 – following a stint of more than 47 years of service.

Today, the U.S.S. Midway Museum is one of the most popular tourist destinations in downtown San Diego. Over the years, the aircraft carrier has been meticulously and lovingly restored and now greets guests young and old who want to take a glimpse into America’s rich naval history. The museum presents a variety of events and activities throughout the year. Tours include the sleeping quarters of ordinary soldiers, the mess hall, officers’ quarters, engine room, the brig, chapel, and even the laundry room. Visitors end the tour on the flight deck, where 29 restored aircraft are proudly on display.

Five Reasons Why Beach Vacation Rentals Are Way Better Than Hotels

Planning a fun vacation to San Diego? Ready for warm air, sunny skies, sun and sandy beaches? San Diego offers all that and then some: world-class cultural events, festivals, amusement parks, professional sports and iconic SeaWorld, just to name a few. But before your big vacation kicks off, you have a big decision to make. Do you stay in a vacation rental condo or a hotel?

Vacation Rental Condo vs. Hotel Room

After being cooped up in the office all day under oppressive florescent lighting, you look at your beach photography calendar with desperation. Now that you’ve endured your third meeting (today) about “increasing productivity,” the time has come to finally discover why San Diegans are known for their consistently relaxed attitudes and chill lifestyles: you’re going to book that trip to the beach.

Exceptional Vacation RentalsThis is going to be a real vacation, so it should feel like one. That means minimum stress and maximum luxury, but spending hours comparing hotels online and then paying an outrageous price to stay far from the beach in cramped conditions is the opposite of this goal. Fortunately, there’s a better way: beach vacation homes in San Diego. It might surprise you to find out that beach vacation homes can be less expensive, much more luxurious, and easier to rent than a hotel. Here are five reasons why you should go with a rental rather than a hotel:

Comic-Con International: San Diego is a one-of-a-kind event that you’ll want to experience year after year. What was once considered an event for “nerds” and “geeks” has been wholly embraced and drastically expanded to include all forms of the latest and greatest entertainment. It’s the type of festival that’s a hit with all ages and keeps getting better year after year. But before you throw on your Star Trek Red Shirt, pop on that Stormtrooper helmet or put on those Harry Potter spectacles, there are a few things you need to know.
